CELEB INSIDER: Elvis, 'OTH' Enough for Hilton

Singer-cum-actor Tyler Hilton says playing Elvis in the current big-screen release 'Walk the Line' and his recurring gig on 'One Tree Hill' is enough acting under his belt at least for the foreseeable future.

'Music's my day job,' says Hilton. 'That's what I do. Acting is almost like a vacation. I wouldn't do another acting gig unless it was something I could really get into. I'm in a good spot now.'

Hilton, who was out on tour with Hilary Duff this past summer, says he's glad to be back in L.A. and off the road. 'I've been rolling the last two years,' he says. 'There hasn't been any apartment and I've never been in any spot longer than a week. It's been interesting for me to look at myself because who gets a chance to do that for two years? Just go and not have a place but a big suitcase.'

He says the hardest thing to do while he's been gathering no moss, has been keeping old friends and making new ones. 'The relationships you make on the road are quick and the relationships that you love and left behind you're trying to keep glued together with phone calls and letters.'

Hilton, who's currently working on the followup to his debut album, 'The Tracks of Tyler Hilton,' says watching himself play his idol Elvis in 'Walk the Line' was 'such a weird feeling. It was so odd seeing myself on screen.' Did he buy himself as Elvis? 'No,' he says, 'and I don't think I ever will. I'm always able to see myself in the character. The bummer is I've been such a fan of his ever since I was a kid and I know him so well and studied him so much that I don't think I'll ever see the two combined, you know? I think the best I could hope for is like a little secret inside joke between myself and myself -- 'Well, you and I both know that you're not Elvis, but hopefully no one else catches it.'
