// INTERVIEW

Tyler Hilton
-Feb 2004

Q. Hey Tyler! For the people who don't know you yet why don't you tell us a little about yourself?
A. I'm a performing songwriter from Southern Calfornia with a record coming out on Maverick this summer.

Q. What do you think is the best part of being in the music business?
A. My job in the "music community" is to talk bout my life and adventures in songs and sing them. I mean, that's what I do! It's great...

Q. How do you describe your music?
A. It's pop music, but it comes from a real folky background, you know?

Q. When do you think we can see your album out for sale?
A. June 15! June 15! June 15! I'm a bit excited for this summer...

Q. Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?
A. Jack White or Paul McCartney

Q. When did you decide you wanted to sing?
A. There was no real decision... I started before I was talking, like a lot of kids do, but I just kept going!

Q. Who are some artist you look up to?
A. I think any of the coffee house troubadors who are on the charts now are doing a great thing and I really respect their path. As for the past I really look up to the traveling blues men of the 30s and 40s like Robert Johnson. I'm a huge fan of Mississippi John Hurt...

Q. Which song out of the ones you recorded do you think you can most relate to and why?
A. Rolling Home, it's such a vivid account of a time I had.

Q. How did you spend your Valetines day?
A. I saw Sirque de Sulea (not sure of the spelling) It was crazy! The best show by far I've seen live..

Q. Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
A. Hope you're doing well...
