Tyler Hilton - Chris Keller

Take it from us, Tyler Hilton, who makes his television debut as Chris on One Tree Hill, is no one hit wonder. At 20, this hunky songwriter and musician, who released his debut album, The Tracks Of, in September, is already well on his way to topping the charts and making it big in Hollywood. In addition to stealing scenes on The WB, as a self-righteous indie music store manager, Tyler will soon be appearing as Elvis in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line. Here, the prolific dude, who originally hails from Palm Springs, California, tells you all about his latest adventures.
My character is: "A talented songwriter - in his mind! Seriously, what is cool this guy is that he's got this real pompous kind of attitude yet he's also got this sensitive side that he doesn't want anybody to see."
Me and Chris are: "Certainly not strangers. I've encounter guys like this all the time in independent record stores. Guys who never smile and make us feel completely uncool."
Growing up: "I spent a lot of time playing music in small town bars and coffee houses to try and make money while I was in high school. I'm addicted to the rush that comes [while performing] when everything comes together, the music, the crowd, the whole thing and I get goose bumps playing a song, I've played hundred of times before. Nothing compares to that. Nothing."
Appearing on One Tree Hill is: "Pretty exciting. I am so focused on my music, I can only break from it to do things that really, really strike my fancy and there are a lot of things about Chris that I like. He's a pretty complicated character. I'm kind of shocked that I get to do this."
Forbidden fruit: "He's got this thing for Haley. It's a little embarrassing because she's only a junior. Basically, there's a lot of flirting going on, and so, well, he becomes an obstacle to Nathan and Nathan becomes an obstacle for Chris. I can relate to the guy. You can't really control those kinds of feelings, however, whether I would be the type to act on them is a different story. "
Going for blood: "Chris is not a fighter. He too much of a philosopher. I am sure if someone tried to fight him, he would probably regard them as barbaric and, uh, subhuman."
Off camera jam sessions: "I wouldn't say the cast is a musical cast except for Bethany Joy Lenz. She and I have had some great times in the studio together. And Hilarie [Burton]! That girl knows music. She's like Peyton and Chris combined."
